Wondering what Nigeria Customs will charge when your goods arrive? Enter the value of your goods, freight and insurance, pick the duty band, and this calculator estimates the full arrival bill — duty, levies and VAT.
How Nigeria import duty works
Nigeria charges duty on the CIF value of your shipment — the cost of the goods plus freight plus insurance. The duty rate depends on how Customs classifies your goods under the ECOWAS Common External Tariff (CET): 0%, 5%, 10%, 20% or 35%. On top of duty, most shipments pay the ETLS levy, a surcharge and VAT.
There is no single "duty rate for Nigeria" — the band comes from your goods' HS classification, and levies change from year to year. Treat this as a planning estimate, and ask us about the goods you're sending — we'll tell you what to expect before you commit.
